The obvious one is the current crisis, and I would suggest a forum which helps divide the effected areas such as Stocks, Foreign Exchange, Commodity markets, Government behaviour etc etc etc. In addition, it may be worth having one which looks at behaviours of Central Banks as well.

I can see that there already is a forum for current economic climate, and now there is one for financial markets

How about a discussion group about the methodology of economics. The discipline is becoming increasingly criticised both from within and without. Economists like Deidrie McCloskey and Tony Lawson are coming out to say that they believe economics to be total pseudo-scientific rubbish, while philosopher have for years been showing skepticism about the assumptions and framework of the subject. Others such as Paul Ormerod wish to the way economics is taught to be radically changed. The student group post-autistic economics was formed a few years ago mostly by french students stating their dissatisfaction with the preoccupation with mathematics and the seeming lack of connection with the real world, distinguished economists such as Jim Stanford of the Canadian auto union have written for their website and spoken out in favour of their cause. A very funny as well as informative article can be seen on the post-autistic economics review at this link http://www.paecon.net/PAEReview/issue21/Stanford21.htm
Deidrie McCloskey's book The Secret Sins of Economics which discusss the shoddy philosophical and methodologcal backdrop to economics and its failure to constitute genuine science can be seen here http://www.prickly-paradigm.com/paradigm4.pdf
I'd really like to see what people have to say about this as I think that economics is beoming dangerously unscientific and when these are such important questions........ I could really go on about this for hours.....
